So I got my musical mobile very quickly and was pleased when I opened the package. The animals are cute and well made. However, in my excitement to get the mobile out of the package, I quickly cut the string that held the animals to the package. To my horror I realized that this wasn’t just packaging like normal toys have that attach the toy to the box, the string was the actual string that hangs the animal from the plastic mobile!!! I’m very pregnant so I got really, really upset that I ruined the mobile. My husband managed to kind of fix it but you can tell. The animals hang a little lop-sided when you put all five on.
Also, when you wind the musical mobile up, it doesn’t play for very long and sometimes the melody slows down and sounds a little funky… not sure if this is the best mobile for the price. AND after I bought it for $30 they lowered the pricE!!! NO fair.

We got the mobile to match the Just Born Animal Adventure bedding. It is adorable and looks perfect with the bedding!

I was very disappointed with this product. The instructions are incomplete (not that it’s hard to assemble or anything). But the arm of this mobile is far too short, resulting in the figures bumping into the vertical part and, since the musical motor isn’t that strong to begin with, the mobile stops turning. Not very “mobile” if you ask me.
I got just under 4 minutes of play time with a full wind-up. And the lion was missing half his whiskers.

I received the “James Giraffe” version of this mobile as a gift. (This isn’t a model I can find on Amazon, but from the pictures of the base I would say it’s from the same general series as Animal Adventure.)
Pros:
* Reasonably easy to put together.
* This attaches to the crib side securely and with less possibility of gouging the crib railings than an earlier version of the product.
* Animals are cute and in pleasant, soft pastels.
Cons:
* Animals are cute and in pleasant, soft pastels. Babies are attracted to BRIGHT colors. And all baby will be able to see is the belly or feet of the animals. This mobile is definitely designed to look good to parents, not to baby.
* After winding the music box as tightly as I feel comfortable doing, it plays for a whole 40 seconds.
* The music has a few places where the note delivery doesn’t sound syncing with the time signature, which is highly annoying if you’re a musical type of person.
Admittedly I’m still pregnant, so I haven’t had a chance to get Junior’s input on whether it’s any good or not.
