Topsy Turvy, Garden Containers, Upside Down Pots, Growing Tomatoes, Peppers & Herbs Update 4

by admin on May 30, 2010

Another weekly update on our upside down and container garden. Broccoli struggling a little bit and one of my upside down tomatoes in a container is not as healthy as it’s “sister” growing right side up. Cucumbers are doing gang busters! Getting lots of tomatoes and peppers. Having a blast here! I’m sure you’re not here to read this anyhow….enjoy the video! Thanks for watching and if you have any suggestions, please leave them.

Love the garden. Checkout a book called “Sea Energy Agriculture” and Ron Paul’s next best seller called “End The Fed”. Take care and keep up the great examples you are setting in our Republic.

Thanks for experimenting with all of these things! You have answered a lot of questions! Where are you in Central Ohio? I live in U.A.

Like your set up in the back yard… Was curious about the topsy turvy… how often do you fertilize … and what soil did you use..??? Thanks

Yewtoobnube May 9, 2010 at 1:00 pm

@sta4cey24 Thank you. I used Miracle Gro once or twice in the beginning and only water after that. For the soil, I mix 1/3 Miracle Gro Garden Soil for Flowers and Veggies, 1/3 Miracle Gro Potting Mix w/ Moisture Control and 1/3 Bumpercrop. I sprinkle in a little blood meal and a little bone meal. You garden?

I had a topsy turvy tomato (with a nice bush variety of tomato) growing, but I’m too short to reach the wooden beam above my porch, so I hung it from a Comand hook on my houter wall.. The hook broke and my plant was killed int he fall :( . Planter is fine though, I wanna try again, but maybe a neighbor can help me get the proper hook up in the beam.

Jealous as heck of your tomatoes though, lol. I started a bit late. I’m putting up videos too, hopefully my plants will do well this year.

Yewtoobnube May 19, 2010 at 7:25 pm

@RichMenAreEvil Let me know when you post a video. I’d love to see how successful you are. Best of luck to you!

rlal85 May 21, 2010 at 11:07 pm

Did u grow the hungarian wax peppers from seed or starter plant? Nice garden btw. Do you have one this year?

Yewtoobnube May 22, 2010 at 7:57 am

@rlal85 Everything in our container garden was from starter plants. Thanks for the compliment. We actually just bought some pepper plants, tomato plants and some cucumber plants and will be starting up again this year. Thanks again for commenting. Do you garden? If so, let me know.

rlal85 May 23, 2010 at 12:50 am

@Yewtoobnube yes I do garden. My first year. I don’t post up videos though. Please post up videos for this years garden as well. :)

Yewtoobnube May 23, 2010 at 7:25 pm

@rlal85 Well, how about shooting me a message from time to time and let me know how you do, ok? I just put up a video today ’cause we just planted some veggies in our containers. Also, thank you for subscribing!
