the leaves are full of bugs or the inside of the container? Sometimes the sponge gets dirt imbedded in in and it looks dark. If the leaves have black aphids on it u can get tomato dust from home depot, or u can sue ladybugs. they eat them up.
if u live in a hot area then with direct sunlight all day try medium to light watering everyday, I live in so cal and now that its summer ive bumped up my watering. good luck let me know
it sounds like a good idea but does it actually work?
either the normal way of growing stuff for thousands of years has been wrong or this is a gimmick. You decide.
No more stooping to pick veggies. now you need a ladder to water them.
My topsy turvey is doing hurrible. It is only about half the size of my regular garden tomatoes. The tomatoes tend to fall off before they completely ripen. I will stick to my regular garden tomatoe’s next year.
Same! I am having the same problem, and am very unsatisfied with this product. I called them to get a refund, and they were very rude, and said that I should follow the instructions. Well….$15 wasted, and a poor tomato plant not doing so well.
I poked a hole in a cheap plastic hanging basket and had much better luck then with my topcy. The TT won’t dry out and that means rot is on it’s way. I like in so cal and it hot and dry every frigen day.
Get a full grown tomato plant from the nursery, then shove the fucker in the topsy BULLSHIT with some dirt and presto there you go just like the add.
Good luck with any other method, works like shit.
I tried this product it didnt work at all.. BUT I DID TRY A PRODUCT CALLED A BLOOM MASTER I grew three tomato plants nine pepper plants hearbs and flowers in one container I live in Az It does work in our heat It not only worked it grew more veggies than we could eat. I started giving them to all my friends I wouldnt have belived it had I not seen it with my own eyes
hey lady, are you the same girl from the comercial or are you just a frod? (copy cat)
wow…that`ll defientley stop birds eating the tomatos…
never buy it mine got fungal disease and died
I’ll stay with the traditional way, the way we have been doing it for thousands of years.
Mine dry rotted….waste of time
Correction, FRAUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Topsy Turvy owes me and everyone else their money back. I have two I want to return and get my money back, that is not including the cost of the plant, plant vitamins, potting soil, watering and my time. You can’t grow BIG ASS JUICY RED TOMATOES in small spaces. I found several problems with this method. You are a RIP OFF and a FRUAD!
@madluv4usher I’m glad I read your post. This thing sounds like a total ripoff.
I’m not weighing in one way or another on the Topsy Turvy – I will give it a test myself this season. I do think a lot of the comments from people that knock it though seem to be based on the opinion that it would be ‘too easy’. Don’t forget . . . this thing is not ‘magic’, it is just a planter. Like anything, you are going to get out of it what you put in. Some people claim fantastic results while others think it is sh**. I suspect the former might have just put in more care and effort.
I have a green thumb. I am a totally devoted gardener. I hear people say they were successful, but I have never seen it, not even from the folks that are pitching the sell. The commercial has fake tomatoes. All that I did see around town were worst than mine. Tomato Cherries might work. The roots may not require much space to grow in. However I wish you luck!
Believe me you the person that is going to give it a try will need more than a song and a prayer. lol! Thanks for your reply. Good luck on your gardening this year.
That’s a bummer to hear – I didn’t spend much on these – I bought two last fall at a ridiculously low end of season sale. But, I have a typically small city yard and was really hoping this was the real deal as I just don’t have much space to work with. I’ll give it a shot – thanks.
All of the plant I’ve seen growing out of this looked so sickly.
@TERRYBEAR100
how is your topsy turvy doing now???
People learn science…… Plants need to grow /\ not \/……. FYI dumbasses… Greenhouses heat the room and give sun to the PLANT not the stupid soil….. DUH Common sense.
