theres a recipe im following, and part of it is to make garlic bread. It says to use herbs with the garlic bread…but doesnt say what herbs exactly. So does anyone know what herbs would be best to use for garlic bread?

Sprinkle prepared “Italian seasoning mix” into some soft butter and spread it on thick, then add some Parm cheese and toast it in the oven. If you don’t have or can’t find the Italian seasoning, then use a bit of Oregano, Basil, and parsley and garlic powder.
Italian seasoning is good. Parsley flakes, a little Rosemary or Basil, or just plain oregano……

All you really need is garlic powder and parsley.
I’m not sure at all, but if you want to make REAL Italian garlic bread, which is what “bruschetta” (pronounced “broo-sket-ta”) is, all you have to do is toast slices of bread, either over a flame, under a broiler, or in a toaster, and then, while still hot, rub one surface with a peeled, cut garlic clove. Then you drizzle them with olive oil and sprinkle on a little salt. This is the basic (and delicious) bruschetta.
There are also a number of toppings for bruschetta: chopped tomatoes, olive paté, artichoke paté, chopped cooked chicken livers… I’ve recently discovered that baba ghanoush (an eggplant or eggplant+chickpea spread) and hummus (chickpea spread) are also really good on bruschetta; in this case, you can eliminate the garlic on the bread, because it’s already in the spread.

But the simple, “real” thing is the plain garlic bruschetta. No butter, garlic salt, or herbs needed.
Everyone’s telling you italian seasoning… In all honesty, using any seasoning other than -garlic- really bothers my taste buds. I dislike over-seasoned GARLIC bread.
So I’m voting for only butter and garlic.
Parsley goes with garlic. Parsley helps cut down on garlic breath.
I had some dried Thyme on the shelf and put a small amount of that in and it was really nice, give it a go
I just use chopped fresh oregano and maybe a pinch of thyme.
It doesn’t need much.

(sorry – being cheeky. here in the US they sell ‘italian seasoning’ packets, so you could use that). rosemary sounds good though…
whatever you use, mix it in with the butter before applying to the bread.
